Corey duBrowa | Senior Vice President | Global Communications & Internal Public Affairs | Portland, OR

Corey duBrowa is responsible for Global Communications and International Public Affairs for Starbucks, leading development and execution of communications strategies to enhance and protect the brand. He leads efforts to extend integrated brand marketing campaigns, support new product launches and nurture the company’s reputation.

Corey joined Starbucks in January 2010, as vice president of Global Public Affairs. Starting in October 2011, Corey has served in an expanded role as senior vice president, Global Communications and International Public Affairs.

Prior to joining Starbucks, Corey spent nearly a decade with Waggener Edstrom Worldwide, where he served as President of Account Services with responsibility for the agency’s North America unit as well as its global public affairs and global client development teams. He also spent nearly six years at Nike, where he had responsibility for U.S. employee communications and was part of the team that established the brand’s presence in the Latin and South America regions.

His background also includes leadership roles at Saks Fifth Avenue (during the company’s IPO) and May Department Stores. He also spent more than thirteen years as a rock journalist, publishing nearly 1,000 stories in publications such as Rolling Stone, Village Voice, No Depression, Magnet, Paste and the Portland Oregonian.

Corey holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism with a focus on advertising from the University of Oregon. He has served on the board of the University of Oregon Alumni Association board of directors for seven years, including two years as its President. He and his wife Courteneay and son, Tanner, live in Portland, Oregon.
