Jay Schmidt | Out Of Home Specialist | Columbus, OH
Jay is the Director of Business Development at Matrix Media Services, a Columbus, OH based firm that specializes in out-of-home media. He focuses on cultivating relationships within the advertising community and helping clients build effective outdoor advertising campaigns.
After graduating with a degree in communications from The University of Dayton, Jay worked as a sports writer for several newspapers in Columbus before jumping into advertising, where he has spent the last eight years consuming as much industry-related information as possible.
Before finding his way in the ad world, Jay also held down gigs as a tennis instructor, short order cook, bartender and did some moonlighting as an aspiring rapper in the early 2000s.
Jay spends his free time doing outdoorsy stuff like hiking and fishing with his wife and black lab dog. He is also a fierce Detroit Lions loyalist, which makes him a glutton for punishment. He has stated that if the Lions ever win the Super Bowl, it will be the happiest moment of his life, superseding his wedding day and the birthdays of any future children.
